Baseball Is Back – Spring Training Starts Today!

Today is finally the day: Baseball Spring Training begins!
For many, it’s just preseason preparation — but for me, it’s the official end of winter.

The first pop of the glove.
The crack of the bat.
The first photos coming out of Florida and Arizona.

It feels like a fresh start — not only for the teams, but for us fans as well.

What Does Spring Training Mean?

Spring Training is the official preseason of the Major League Baseball (MLB).

Every year in February, teams head to:

  • Florida (Grapefruit League)

  • Arizona (Cactus League)

There, under warm skies, they prepare for the season ahead — testing new players, refining rotations, adjusting lineups, and giving rookies their first real opportunity to prove themselves.

For fans, it means:
- Baseball is back.
- Hope is back.
- A new season begins — and anything is possible.

A Quick Look Back at History

The first organized Spring Training dates back to 1886, when the Chicago White Stockings — now known as the Chicago Cubs — trained under player-manager Cap Anson in Arkansas to prepare for the upcoming season.

Soon, teams realized that warmer climates offered ideal training conditions. Florida quickly became a popular destination in the early 20th century, and later Arizona joined the tradition.

Back then, facilities were simple — modest fields, limited infrastructure.
Today, Spring Training features state-of-the-art complexes, advanced analytics, sports science, and global media coverage.

And yet, one thing hasn’t changed:
The feeling of a new beginning.

Baseball is more then a game, it's a feeling!
